Well, it's happening. Our landlady sold the apartment building and the buyers are buying it to move in so, after 18 years, it's "out-we-go" :( Now, as you may realize from the content I post, I'm not that old so 18 years is practically my whole life right now. I'm only 25 so do the math. This is the home in which I grew up. This is where all the memories are, the fun celebrations with my family, the school projects with friends. These are the walls that have seen my tears, my smiles, heard my laughs and cries. I look around and all the memories just come flooding back to me. 18 years and we have to say goodbye. So, I will not be posting for quite a while, but maybe when we move and my room is set up I will post some pictures and tell you where I got everything. (Hint: It'll probably be a lot of PBteen and amazon ;) )

It's a lovely time of year, isn't it! Pink and red hearts are scattered all around sprinkled with hugs and kisses... and chocolate ;) So many people are getting ready baking heart-shaped cookies, creating mini mail-boxes, and shopping for the perfect gift that will capture the hearts of their loved ones. People really do go out of their way to make their holidays even better than the last.
And for all of you who turn to roses, I still have yet to meet someone who can actually keep them alive. Except for Belle in Beauty and the Beast but even then, it did die before it was magically brought back from the dead... Then again, maybe that's why roses are the perfect gift to show someone you love them...
But I'm getting a bit off topic. Valentine's Day is all about love (even though I'm not sure why since there's no real evidence of how that started). But have you ever given more thought to Valentine's Day? I mean, besides for the people you love and your best friend in the whole wide world, I think we should all look a little further. That girl sitting on the sidelines not getting any cards or candy... Or that war veteran who risked his life serving our country... Or the teacher no one likes so she won't be getting anything from any of her students... Or the bank teller who will be standing on his feet the whole day... You get the point.
I don't celebrate Valentine's Day since I'm a Jewish girl. But in my opinion, love is for every day. If you want to set aside a day to show it because well, giving candy, cards, and chocolate every day would get expensive, well that's completely fine. But why don't we make a little change and show some care and consideration for those who may not usually get. Show some love to someone new this year!
Here's a challenge for you: Minted has an amazing classroom Valentine's Day card collection to choose from (yes, those cards all over my post are from the collection ;) ). Many of their cards even have beautiful foil accents! They have cards for the sparkly girly-girl to the future female CEO to the sports-obsessed boy to the foodie. Choose one new person to show some love to and give them a little card from Minted's classroom Valentine's card collection and maybe even a little gift. Next take a picture of the Minted classroom Valentine's Day card you chose and if you'd like you may include the gift in the picture as well. I'll share this blog post on my Facebook page. Post the picture in the comments below the Facebook post (if you're under 13, get permission from an adult) and write who you chose to give it to and why (no names please - just a description i.e. a girl in my dance class, the janitor, etc.). Then write what his/her reaction was when they received the surprise card!
A smile that goes on an adventure makes the world a better place. Why don't you start that little smile's journey by sending it off to the next person who will in turn give it to the next. Let LOVE conquer the world! Let the stars that guide us turn into x's and o's and sparkly hearts ❤ that light up the night sky!
Have a lovely Valentine's Day!
